Funding innovative research
AXIOM
Human ingenuity is truly an incredible force and we know there are amazing ideas out there which can solve the puzzle of climate change but these ideas simply need to be explored and fostered.
AIM
We aim to be a charity to fund research into good ideas to reverse climate change where traditional funding can't quite stretch.
KITEMARK
We will work with British Isles' universities within the Russell Group so our charitable benefactors can be sure of the quality of research. We will not carryout any research ourselves.
DIVERSITY
We recognise that research institutions have different biases which could impact lines of research in unknown ways so we will diversify our funding across institutions, humbly accepting our own innate selection biases.
RESULTS
We expect research funded by charitable contributors to be peer reviewed and published in learned journals for the benefit of all peoples of the world.
SECURITY
We will issue grants of a size to ensure each research project has sufficient funds to complete, as we recognise the importance of security of funding to the quality of the research.
SUPPORT
We will also support research with high specialisms which can be shared across many projects such as: - quantum computing for modelling, CRISPR gene-editing and 3D printing
Case Study
OCEAN FERTILISATION
Ocean fertilisation is potentially an extremely low cost method of materially reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, a candidate as a possible silver bullet to reverse climate change.
An Aug 2008 article in Philosophical Transaction of the Royal Society A, explores options and lays out a research roadmap including laboratory and computer modelling studies which need funding.
